Journalist murdered

Sattur: A journalist of a weekly magazine, S. Karthigai Selvan (43), was hacked to death outside Tamil Nadu Hotel on the outskirts of Sattur along Virudhunagar-Tirunelveli Highway late on Monday evening.

Police said an armed gang assaulted Selvan, who was at the hotel, and left him dead in a pool of blood around 6.45 p.m. Selvan was also a partner in the leased restaurant of Tamil Nadu Hotel, Superintendent of Police M. Rajarajan said.

The motive for the murder was under investigation, the police said.
