Sarath Kumar, president, Samathuva Makkal Katchi, has appealed to the voters to bring back All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule for the development of the State.

Canvassing votes for Manithaneya Makkal Katchi candidate of Ramanathapuram constituency M.H. Jawahirullah here on Saturday, he said that development had taken a backseat during the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule owing to corruption and mismanagement. The State had been on a deteriorating path. Development had come to a standstill. There was no notable development in Ramanathapuram district also.

He said that the propaganda secretary of the DMK, A. Raja, who was supposed to popularise the policies and programmes of the party, had been sent to the jail in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. Several crores of public money had been swindled in the scam. The people should rethink before casting their votes. It was a time for change. The AIADMK would give a ‘golden rule' to the people of the State, he said.
