A Web portal of the State Industries Department, launched on Thursday, will serve as a single source of information for companies planning to invest in the State.
Inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, the portal ( www.investingintamilnadu.com) offers comprehensive information on government policies and procedures, infrastructure availability and industrial parks.
Designed by the Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau, the portal incorporates presentations on various sectors of opportunities. There is an interactive guide on ‘step by step approach’ for setting up a company in the State with complete details on processes and procedures, forms, contact details and additional information.
With extensive references to market research presentations and reports of reputed agencies, the site has live-chat capability that enables international and Indian companies to interact directly live with officials of the Guidance Bureau and Industries Department.
There are provisions for use of mobile SMS technology and online processing of the single window facility forms. The content is completely dynamic, according to an official release.
Since May 2006, the State attracted investments amounting to Rs.46,091 crore in the manufacturing sector that was expected to generate employment for about 2.2 lakh persons. This was possible because of “investor-friendly policies and transparent decision-making process of the State government,” the release added.
