DMK protest against NEET on Jan. 20

Tiruvannamalai: Joint consultative meeting of Tiruvannamalai south district youth wing and students wing functionaries of the DMK resolved to conduct a demonstration against National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) that is made mandatory to get admission into medical colleges, on January 20.

The demonstration scheduled to be held in front of Tiruvannamalai Head Post Office would also register its opposition to new education policy initiative of the U nion government.

Former Minister E.V. Velu delivered special address at the meeting. Youth Wing District Organiser C.N. Annadurai presided. Student wing district organiser ‘College’ K. Ravi delivered the welcome address. The meeting also passed a resolution to condemn the Central and State governments for not taking steps to conduct jallikattu.
