Cash awards for teachers, headmasters

Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister A. Tamilarasi presented cash awards worth Rs.5.47 lakh as incentive to teachers and headmasters for showing good results in school final exams.

At a review meeting of headmasters, post-graduate and graduate teachers in high and higher secondary schools run by the Adi Dravidar Department, the Minister praised the headmasters who had achieved above 60 per cent results in the S.S.L.C and Plus 2 exams and urged them to improve on the scores in the coming years.

A cash reward of Rs.1,000 was presented to 54 headmasters of schools which achieved a pass percentage above 60 and Rs.1,500 to 80 for achieving over 75 per cent pass.

Besides, 750 PG teachers and 207 graduate teachers were given a cash award of Rs.750 for achieving centum results in Plus 2 and S.S.L.C. respectively.

The Minister asked the Adi Dravidar Welfare Commissioner to take necessary action against headmasters and teachers who showed poor results in school final exams.
