The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Monday quashed the non-bailable warrant issued against Durai Dhayanidhi, son of Union Minister M.K. Alagiri, and granted him anticipatory bail in cases registered against him for alleged involvement in the granite quarrying scam.

Justice C.T. Selvam, however, asked him to surrender his passport to the Judicial Magistrate and directed him to appear at the Keelavalavu police station every day until further orders. His earlier plea for anticipatory bail was dismissed by Justice T. Mathivanan on September 25.
