All is fine with Rajinikanth


A new 35-second teaser of the video Neruppu da…,a popular track in Kabali, is released online

Rumours flew thick and fast on microblogging site Twitter on Thursday, malicious ones that claimed all was not well with actor Rajinikanth and that he had succumbed to ill health in the United States where he is reportedly holidaying with his family.

While people had been speculating about the health of the actor ever since the makers of his next flick Kabali aborted plans to have a grand audio launch for the movie and released it directly online, they took a new turn on Thursday and sources close to the star had to step in to clarify that he was doing fine.

While the star was initially supposed to clarify on his Twitter page, which recently touched three million followers, no such tweet appeared till late at night. However, establishing that all was fit and fine with the actor, Kalaippuli S. Thanu, the producer, released a new 35-second teaser online of the video for ‘Neruppu da…’ one of the most popular songs from the album.

The teaser, apart from featuring Rajinikanth, also gives a glimpse of Winston Chao, the Taiwanese actor who is said to be playing the primary antagonist in the film.

Being the first video song teaser from the movie, jubilant fans shared it and said their expectations for the movie had skyrocketed. While the movie does not have an official release date yet, people are expecting that the movie will be out by the first week of July.

Meanwhile, low-cost carrierAirAsiaannounced that it will be the airline partner for Kabali , promising a customised in-flight menu and merchandise related to the film.

Excited about horror debut

After Tharai Thappattai that won critical acclaim, actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is all set to don a role in an upcoming horror flick, Ammayi.

To be directed by debutant G. Shankar, the film has Varalaxmi Sarathkumar pairing with actor Vinay. Excited about the film that began shooting on Thursday, Varalaxmi tweeted about working in her first horror flick, with a debutant director.

Posters announcing the launch of the film greeted people on arterial roads of the city. Veteran music director Ilayaraja will score music and R. Saravanan will wield the camera.

Several actors, including Vishal, congratulated the crew on the new venture on social media. Varalaxmi is also awaiting the release of Malayalam movie Kasaba , where she will share screen space with Mammootty.
