Air India crew to rescue of passenger

Timely intervention by cockpit and cabin crew of an Air India flight from Dubai saved the life of a passenger at the Chennai airport on Wednesday.

Air India sources said flight IC 906 arrived from Dubai around 5.40 a.m. One of the passengers, Palani Jayaram, was approaching the immigration counter when he fell down and was writhing in pain with froth in his mouth.

The crew members, who were also nearing the immigration counter, immediately gave him first aid by bringing an oxygen cylinder from the aircraft.

They informed the Airport Authority doctor who rendered medical assistance. Later, the passenger was admitted to a hospital at Pallavaram, an Air India source said.
