The AIADMK front is on “ventilator” and the electorate will seal its fate on April 13, the day of polling, said Union Minister and DMK's south zone organising secretary M.K. Alagiri here on Tuesday.

After welcoming veteran politician Rathnam of AIADMK to the DMK, Mr. Alagiri told reporters that the confusion in the opposition camp not only reflected on the high command's poor leadership but had also caused a flutter among the cadre.

The faux pas in seat allocation, a few days ago in the AIADMK, was not welcomed by the functionaries. Hence, in the event of removal of the ventilator, “you all know what will happen,” he said. That would happen on the date of polling, he added.

Already, the MDMK had opted to “stay away” from the elections because of disrespect meted out to it by the AIADMK high command in seat sharing.

To a query on DMDK president Vijayakant allying with the AIADMK front, Mr. Alagiri said, “I was under the impression that the actor-turned-politician was a man with self-respect…but he has proved it wrong.”

Mr. Alagiri was confident that the DMK front would win hands down.
