93.91 percentage for Tirunelveli

75 schools, including six government institutions, produce centum result

Tirunelveli district has achieved a pass percentage of 93.91 in the Plus Two examinations this year. A total of 34,709 students from 278 schools across the district appeared for the exams and 32,463 students were declared pass, sources in the Chief Educational Office, Tirunelveli, said. The district’s pass percentage has declined from 94.37 recorded last year.

With an overall score of 1,188 marks, A. Subashini, a student of Bharath Montessori Higher Secondary School, Ilanji, excelled in the district. Two students shared the second rank. S. Gurulakshmi of Aupet Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai, and A. Preethi of Sri Jayendra Swamigal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Maharajanagar, scored a total of 1,187 marks each.

H. Ganesh of Hilton Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Old Courtallam, scored 1,185 marks and ranked third in the district. S. Abisha Grace of Rosemary Matriculation School, Palayamkottai, also got 1,185 marks.

In the district, Tirunelveli educational district recorded a pass percentage of 94.22, followed by Tenkasi educational district with 93.41 and Cheranmahadevi educational district 92.84.

Centum results

As many as 75 schools, including six government schools, produced centum result. Among the schools, which achieved centum result, 52 were matriculation schools, 16 private management schools and one Government Adi Dravida school.

As many as 283 students have scored full marks in Mathematics, 144 students in Accountancy, 39 in Chemistry, 32 in Commerce, 28 in Business Maths, 17 in Computer Science, 13 in Biology, four each in Economics and History, three in Botany, and two students have scored 200 in Physics, the sources said.
