Nine persons -- five workers of a shoe company in Ambur, staying in Gudiyatham and four school students -- were injured when the van in which they were travelling capsized at the road overbridge across the railway track in Ulli village in Gudiyatham Taluk Police Station limits on Friday morning.

According to police sources, while the men were proceeding to Ambur for work, the school students were picked up near the mosque in Ulli. The accident occurred when the driver of the van, belonging to the shoe company, was negotiating a sharp turn on the bridge.
