Officials attached to the Flying Squad seized 700 litres of subsidised kerosene after a hot chase of about 5 km near Pudukkadai in the early hours on Friday.
A team led by the M. Ignatious Xaviour, Special Tahsildhar and Deputy Tahsildhar Babu Ramesh, intercepted a car near Karungal at about 3.30 a.m. The driver did not stop his vehicle.
After a hot chase, the car was stopped by the officials near Pudukkadai. The driver stopped the car and escaped in the dark.
The car along with the kerosene was seized. The kerosene was handed over to the government depot.
