7-year-RI for sexually assaulting minor girl

The Mahila Court has sentenced a notorious criminal to seven years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2014 in Villivakkam.

According to the Villivakkam police, the girl, a Standard VII student, was playing in her house on May 20, 2014, when Ravi alias Mattu Ravi (44) entered the house and sexually assaulted her. The girl complained to her mother when she returned home from work, and she lodged a complaint with the police.

Immediately after the incident, Ravi went absconding. The police arrested him after some months. Investigation revealed that Ravi had several criminal cases against him and was detained under the Goondas Act twice.
