600 people screened at medical camp

A total of 600 people were screened for various cardiac related health issues at the medical camp conducted by Rotary Club of Tirupur Dollar City and Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, for economically poor people here on Sunday.

Of them, 110 people would have to undergo surgery to correct the ailments detected at the camp. R.M. Senthil Kumar, a Rotarian and one of the camp coordinators, told reporters that the surgery would be conducted free-of-cost to the patients, which include 30 children, at Apollo Hospitals shortly.

“This is the fourth edition of the joint cardiac camp conducted by us and we have arranged free surgery for 130 people after the first three editions,” he said.
