Three children drowned in a pond at Neelamangalam near Kallakurichi on Thursday. The victims were identified as K. Kumar (11) and S. Janani (14) of Neelamangalam village and A. Pavithra (16) of Moghur village.
Police sources said Pavithra who had come to her grandfather Karuppan’s house for the holidays went to the pond along with Kumar and Janani. Unaware of the depth the children entered the pond and were drowned. The bodies were sent to the Kallakurichi Government Hospital. A case has been registered
