June 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - ERODE:

The 15 (TN) BN NCC, Erode, expects over 2,600 cadets to turn up for the International Yoga Day celebration at the Kongu Engineering College stadium in Perundurai on July 21.

The celebration envisaging harmony in all walks of life will reflect in synchronised performance of yoga asanas by NCC cadets throughout the country from 7am. It would be the largest congregation of uniformed personnel anywhere in the country, Lieutenant Colonel Sudhir Nair told reporters on Thursday.

With encouragement from institution heads and Associate NCC Officers, the cadets have been practising for the last two months to perform the asanas. Participants in the age group of 15 to 19 years will represent institutions spread over Erode and Namakkal districts and a part of Salem district, he said.
