23 injured as bus rams truck

The accident occurred when the driver overtook the lorry

As many as 23 people were injured on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway near Ambur, when a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus rammed a lorry from behind on Sunday.

According to the police, the driver of the Hosur-bound bus, Kamalanathan, was trying to overtake the lorry when the accident occurred, ripping apart the right side of the bus. The injured were rushed to the Government Hospital in Ambur.

Traffic disrupted

Four of them were referred to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital in Adukkamparai.

Traffic on the highway was disrupted for about 45 minutes.

The Ambur taluk police have registered a case.
