20,000 teachers given appointment orders in Chennai

Over 20,000 school teachers were on Thursday given appointment orders and 92 lakh school students covered under the ruling AIADMK’s various initiatives.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa gave away appointment orders to 36 teachers and free school bags, sets of uniforms to 16 students in Chennai to mark her government’s initiative.

Speaking at the event, she said the role of teachers was not confined to imparting education, but involved shaping the student by inculcating discipline and other virtues.

Wishing the teachers and students all the best, she exhorted them to strive towards making the State free of poverty and illiteracy.
