2 constables killed in road accident

Two police constables working in Chennai were killed in an accident near Checkanurani on Sunday.

According to the police, S. Dinesh, 28, and M. Rajapandi, 30, hailing from Usilampatti here, had come on leave to their hometown.

The motorbike they were riding on skidded when they were crossing Puliankulam near Checkanurani on the Madurai-Usilampatti Road.

They were thrown off the bike and a car ran them over, the police sources said.

Though they were rushed to a nearby hospital, the doctors declared them dead on arrival.
