11 colleges from south T.N. in top 100

Eleven arts and science colleges from south Tamil Nadu have found a place in the top 100 of the National Institutional Ranking Framework rankings announced on Tuesday. Two universities – Alagappa University, Karaikudi (43), and Madurai Kamaraj University (81) – and Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai (95), are in the top 100 in overall ranking among 957 institutions.

Among universities, Alagappa University is ranked 27, followed by MK University (54) and Gandhigram Rural Institute (79). In the engineering colleges category, Thiagarajar College of Engineering is ranked 39 and Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Higher Education, Krishnankoil, 96. In the category of colleges, Scott Christian College, Nagercoil, is ranked 37. It is followed by Thiagarajar College, Madurai (44); Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi (47); Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars’ Senthikumara Nadar College, Virudhunagar (51); St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai (54); Sri Meenakshi Government College for Women, Madurai (58); Fatima College, Madurai (65); Women’s Christian College, Nagercoil (70); Lady Doak College, Madurai (81); V.V. Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar (85), and American College, Madurai (90).
