Additional District Judge and Presiding Officer for Special Court for Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Cases R. Ganesan, on Friday, sentenced four women and an autorickshaw driver for possessing and smuggling ganja.
According to the prosecution, K. Pitchammal (52), A. Thennarasi (37), R. Saroja (35), B. Muthulakshmi (35), and Karnan (35) were smuggling 25 kg of ganja in an autorickshaw from Kulithalai to Tiruchi on July 1, 2013. Kulithalai police seized the ganja on July 1, 2013, and registered a case.
