Electricity Minister P. Thangamani asserted in the Assembly on Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that the State government would strive to make TANGEDCO profitable in three to four years. He blamed the erstwhile DMK regime for the poor financial status of TANGEDCO and the frequent load shedding in the past.

The efficient leadership of the Chief Minister had ensured that Tamil Nadu became a power-surplus State. “Likewise, TANGEDCO too will turn profitable in three to four years” the Minister asserted, adding that there was “no load shedding even for a minute” in the State.
