All arrangements will be made to ensure that pilgrims who visit Thittai Sri Vasishteshwarar temple on the occasion of Guru Peyarchi (celestial transit of Planet Jupiter) slated for Tuesday when thousands of devotees are expected to gather at the temple, according to Collector A. Annadurai.
Speaking to officials after reviewing the preparations at the shrine here on Sunday, Mr. Annadurai instructed the TANGEDCO officials to ensure seamless power supply during the festive period in Thittai and surrounding areas, besides asking the administration officials to keep ready auxiliary power sources to emergency situations.
He told the Department of Public Health personnel to keep ready advanced critical care ambulance, besides establishing first aid centres and posting enough medical and paramedical professionals.
Mr. Annadurai also asked the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments officials to clean the sprawling temple tank of filth and algae so that devotees could take a holy dip safely.
Police and law-enforcement agencies established monitoring cameras to reinforce safety of the public, he observed. He also asked the officials to put up enough display signboards to guide devotees during the event.
