Nationalist Congress Party’s candidate from Baramati constituency, Supriya Sule, declared assets worth Rs. 113.87 crores in the affidavit filed on Wednesday.
Ms. Sule’s wealth has doubled over the last five years, from Rs. 52 crore that she had declared during the 2009 Lok Sabha polls. Ms. Sule is Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter.
Out of the Rs. 113.87 crore, Ms. Sule’s share is Rs. 33.87 crore, while her husband Sadanand Sule’s share is Rs. 77.20 crore.
Property in her children’s name is worth Rs. 2.80 crore.
In 2009, Ms. Sule’s share was Rs. 15.79 crore, whereas her husband’s was Rs. 35.78 crore, and her children’s was Rs. 1.16 crore.
Over the last five years, the sitting MP’s wealth has risen due to an increase in the shares she holds in companies, gold and diamond jewellery, and an increase in real estate prices.
Mr. Sadanand Sule is a businessman, whereas according to the affidavit, Ms. Sule’s profession is that of a farmer, and he owns over nine acres of agricultural land.
Both of them own no cars, according to the affidavit.
