Art Olympiad invites schoolchildren to send in entries

Small Hand Art, an initiative to promote children’s art, in association with Lalit Kala Akademi is all set to host ‘Art Olympiad 2015’.

Children interested in participating in the event should send in their entries, on a topic of their choice, only through schools.

The last date for sending entries is December 10, 2014.

There will be four categories of participants based on age: 5 – 7 years; 8 – 10 years, 11 – 13 years and 14 – 15 years. Their work will be judged by panel of eminent persons from the fields of art, media and entertainment.

The top 100 entries will be chosen in January and results will be released on Contest rules can be found on the wesbite. The 100 winners (25 in each category) will get a cash award of Rs. 3,000 and certificates of merit.

Winners in categories C and D will be invited to participate in a workshop and will receive a one-year subscription to The Hindu Young World magazine.

The children will be provided an opportunity to exhibit their work at some of the premier art galleries in India.

Last year, over 6,000 children participated in the event and the children’s works of art were exhibited at Lalit Kala Akademi.
