Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has reiterated that he will fully cooperate with the SIT probe on his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death.

Shashi Tharoor, MP and former Union Minister, sought a fair and impartial investigation into the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

Addressing media persons at Chavakkad near here on Friday, he said he would never try to influence the police investigation.

“My silence is not sinister. I have been silent all year. A police inquiry is going on. I don’t want to undermine or compromise the inquiry in any way.”

He said there should not be any political interference or prejudices in the investigation.

“I have lost my wife and have not been able to mourn in peace for a year. My family is upset at many wrong stories appearing in the media about Sunanda’s death.”

He said he wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner and raised concerns about the investigations. “I am not here for a public debate. Public discussion is harmful for the investigation. Nobody in my family had any reason to suspect a foul play in her (Sunanda Pushkar) death. Everyone loved her deeply. I have pledged full cooperation to the police, along with my staff,” he said.
