The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed Karti Chidambaram, son of former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, to travel to the United Kingdom and France in February and March this year.
A Bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi however directed him to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on four days — March 5, 6, 7 and 12 — in connection with the investigations in the INX Media and Aircel-Maxis cases. It ordered Mr. Karti to “co-operate with the investigating agencies in every manner.”
The court laid down conditions, which includes a deposit of ₹10 crore with the Secretary-General of the Supreme Court, to be returned on his return.
