The Employees Association of SBI’s associates on Friday gave a strike call on June 4 to protest against the unfair policies of State Bank of India management. This would be followed by country-wide strike organised by All India Bank Employees’ Association on June 24.

In a press note, AIBEA general secretary, C.H. Venkatachalam said: “the programme is being organised by State Sector Bank Employees’ Association (SSBEA) on behalf of our unions of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Hyderabad and State Bank of Patiala”

The demands include delinking of associate banks from SBI, extending compassionate appointment scheme as per government guidelines, increasing quantum of staff housing loan, recruiting sub staff and part time employees and resolving pending demands among others.
