K. Saleem Ali, Director-General of Police, Tripura, is back in the Central Bureau of Investigation as Additional Director. He joined duty on Wednesday. Belonging to the 1978 batch of the Manipur-Tripura cadre of the IPS, Mr. Ali held several positions in the CBI — SP, DIG and Joint Director — during his stints from 1988 to 1999 and from 2006 to 2009, before shifting base to Tripura.
Mr. Ali, who hails from Tamil Nadu, is a recipient of the police medal for meritorious service and the President's police medal for distinguished service.
