Rape crisis centres soon, says Maneka

June 03, 2014 12:37 am | Updated December 04, 2021 11:18 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Insisting that the Centre was taking the Badaun gang rape case very seriously, Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi said on Monday that rape crisis centres would soon be set up to offer protection and care for victims.

“The centres will offer medical and legal aid to the victims and comprise a team of doctors, lawyers and police,” the Minister told reporters.

“Even if there were no Badaun case, my first priority was to establish functioning rape crisis centres,’’ she said.
