Rajni Kant Mishra, new chief of BSF

The government on Thursday appointed Rajni Kant Mishra as the Director-General of Border Security Force (BSF) in the place of K.K. Sharma, who is superannuating on September 30. A 1984 batch Indian Police Service officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre,

Mr. Mishra has been shifted from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). He will head the BSF till August 31, 2019. Special D-G (BSF) S.S. Deswal, will replace Mr. Mishra in SSB.

Mr. Deswal is also a 1984 batch IPS officer from Haryana cadre.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) cleared their postings and subsequently the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued notification regarding their new postings.
