Rajdhani Express engine derails, no casualties

Passengers of Dibrugarh-bound Rajdhani Express on Sunday had a miraculous escape when engine of the train derailed at Barauni junction in Bihar’s Begusarai district, railway officials said.

The incident took place when the New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, which was approaching the Barauni junction, went to the down track due to wrong signal, leading to derailment of the engine, East Central Railway officials said.

There was no report of any casualty or injury, they said.

The train proceeded to its destination after the engine was replaced, the officials added.
