PM calls for investigation into sterlisation deaths

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the death of 10 women who underwent sterilisation in Chhattisgarh and asked Chief Minister Raman Singh to carry out a “thorough investigation.”

Sripad Naik, who took over as the Minister of State for Health on Tuesday, said the government had set up a committee to investigate and action will be taken after the report comes in.

Four AIIMS doctors are being flown to Chhattisgarh.
