Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday heaped praise on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Justifying the decision to pick him for the top job in the State, Mr. Shah said what Mr. Adityanath lacked in administrative experience, he made up with his dedication and work ethic.

The Minister said Mr. Adityanath’s performance had proved that the decision despite him never holding the post of a Minister or even running a municipality, was uchit (justified).

Mr. Shah was speaking at a ground-breaking ceremony for 250 investment projects worth ₹65,000 crore with Mr. Adityanath also present.

Sea change

Mr. Shah said U.P. had witnessed a number of changes under Mr. Adityanath, the prime among them being the “good” law and order situation and the flurry of investments.

Acknowledging that the “biggest obstacle” for those wanting to invest in the State was its law and order situation, Mr. Shah said in just two years, the State had witnessed a zameen asmaan ka farq (sea change) on that front. Mr. Adityanath said the investment of ₹65,000 crore would generate three lakh jobs in the State.
