The Lok Sabha election may be more than six months away, but the BJP has upped its fund raising. The party is soliciting donations from the general public through the Narendra Modi App, with the lowest amount being ₹5 and the highest ₹1,000, with a digital fingerprint of the transaction to ensure transparency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj have, till now, made their contributions of a like amount of ₹1,000 each.

“Keeping in line with our values of ushering in transparency in public life, the BJP has started an initiative of seeking micro donations from our karyakartas and well-wishers through the NaMo App. You can donate any amount between ₹5 and ₹1,000,” said party chief Amit Shah.
