Being a Friday, private members will get their chance to present draft legislations to both Houses of the Parliament. Two days of the winter session of Parliament so far have seen almost no conduct of business — except for the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities (Amendment) Bill, 2018 passed by the Rajya Sabha.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is in the Chair. Papers are laid on the table.

BJP members demand loudly an apology from the Congress on the Rafale deal verdict by the Supreme Court. TDP members hold placards demanding Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. Ministers make statements.

Minister J.P. Nadda introduces The Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2018.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh says the Congress has hurt the government’s name and image by blaming them for the Rafale deal. But slogans get louder.

The House ias adjourned till Monday.

Zero Hour begins. But slogans are heard. The House is adjourned.

House convenes. Deputy Chairman Harivansh is in the Chair. Slogans are heard. Committee reports are tabled.

Minister Vijay Goel reads out a statement on government business for the week. House is adjourned till 11.30 a.m.

Lok Sabha | 11 a.m.

The Speaker is in the Chair. A BJP member demands an apology from the Congress for its statements on the Rafale deal. Question Hour begins, but slogans create a din.

The House is adjourned till noon.

Rajya Sabha | List of business

The government has listed The National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Bill, 2018, The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2018 and The Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill, 2018 for consideration and passing.

Lok Sabha | List of business

As far as government business is concerned, The Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2018 is listed for introduction. The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2018, The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2016, The New Delhi International Arbitration Centre Bill, 2018, The Consumer Protection Bill, 2018, The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2018, are also up for introduction and passing.
