Palestine Ambassador to India Adil Shaban Hasan Sadeq on Sunday strongly condemned the Israeli offensive against Palestinians and urged the Indian government to take a clear position on the issue. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise the issue during his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama and ask the latter to condemn and prevent further aggressions against Palestine.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Sadeq hoped India would play an important role in the international policy since it had always been supportive of the Palestine cause. “We are ready to adopt a progressive relationship with Israel if it agreed to peaceful coexist-ence with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine,” Mr. Sadeq said. Syed Vicaruddin, chairman, Indo-Arab League, presented a cheque for Rs. 25 lakh to the Ambassador for helping distressed Palestinians.
