“Pakistani Rangers fired few small mortar bombs and small arms firing on Border out Posts along the IB (Hiranagar belt of) late last night after we fired few rounds on detecting suspected movement close to the IB”, the officer said.

The firing exchanges lasted for a brief period, he said, adding there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the exchanges.

“There was no firing on civilian areas”, he said.

The mortar shells were targeted on Karol Krishna and Londi BoPs along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district around 9.40 p.m. on Sunday night.

The firing exchanges came after a few days of lull along the IB in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
