Close on the heels of Shiv Sena-BJP combine emerging victorious at city civic polls, Shiv Sena’s youth wing, led by Aditya Thackeray, on Saturday won Mumbai University Students Council election.

Mr. Aditya is the son of Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray.

“Yuva Sena’s Zenia Motiwala, student of Jai Hind college has been elected as the president of the University Students Council, while Dhanshree Patil, B.Ed student at Navi Mumbai’s ICL college has been elected as the Secretary,” Yuva Sena PRO Suraj Chavan said.

University representatives elected the president and secretary at the election held at the Fort campus of the country’s one of the oldest and premier institution.

“Out of the ten university representatives, six voted for Yuva Sena, while rest of them voted for the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidhyarthi Sena (MNVS) and National Students’ Union of India (NSUI),” Mr. Chavan said.

This is the fourth successive year where Yuva Sena has won the posts of president and secretary in the University Students Council, he added.
