Worli police to confront Hasan Ali, Tapuriah

June 18, 2011 12:24 am | Updated November 17, 2021 01:11 am IST - Mumbai:

The Worli police will now confront Pune-based businessman Hasan Ali Khan and his accomplice, Kashinath Tapuriah — both accused of money laundering — in a 2008 fake passport case. A local court on Friday allowed the police to question them together for two days.

Mr. Ali and Mr. Tapuriah are now in judicial custody, lodged in the Arthur Road Jail here.

In 2008, a case was registered in the Worli station alleging that Mr. Ali had used forged documents to procure a passport in 1998.

Both of them were granted bail in the case — Mr. Ali in 2009 and Mr. Tapuriah recently. The police said certain new facts had emerged in the case and these needed to be verified. The duo will be questioned in the prison on June 18 and 20.
