Woman, minor son suspected of having murdered 25-year-old man

November 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - New Delhi:

The body of a 25-year-old man was recovered near a market in south Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar on Sunday morning. It is being suspected that a woman, who was in a live-in relationship with the victim, and her minor son may have killed him.

The man was reportedly killed in front of the woman’s three remaining children, two girls and one boy — all below 10 years of age. Police said it was unlikely that the three children, barring the eldest, had any role in the murder even though they may have witnessed it.

A murder case has been registered but no arrests have been made yet, said a senior police officer. The woman and her son are being questioned.

The victim, Santosh, was a sanitation worker at a private hospital in Chanakyapuri. “He had been living with the woman and her four children since one year. The woman had informally separated from her husband who lives in Gurgaon,” said the officer.

Santosh and the woman had apparently quarrelled recently and separated before reconciling around a week ago.
