Woman injured in acid attack

A 30-year-old woman in North-West Delhi's Keshav Puram was injured in an acid attack on Friday evening allegedly by her landlaord.

According to police officers, the incident took place around 8:30 p.m.

The accused has been identified as Manjeet. “The woman who works in a factory was on her way back home when two men on bike threw acid at her and fled,” said a police officer.

On hearing the woman’s cry for help, locals rushed her to a hospital. Doctors said that she has suffered severe burns on the right side of the face.

“The woman has also suffered a temporary loss of vision,” said hospital sources. The police said that Manjeet was interrogated till late night during which he admitted to the crime.

“During interrogations, he said that he was in a relationship with the woman for the past few years, but recently they had an argument over marriage,” said the police.
