Rameshwar Gurjar gave his first Sports Authority of India (SAI) trial at TT Stadium in Bhopal on August 19. The 24-year-old did not qualify in his first professional test.

Gurjar is an athlete who was seen in a viral video sprinting barefoot 100 meters in 11 seconds.

A tweet by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, brought the sportsman to the limelight. In the tweet Mr Chouhan had urged the Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju to lend a helping hand to Rameshwar.

After Mr. Rijiju assured to put him in an athletics academy, SAI asked him to report at its Bhopal Centre.

The athlete is also known as the Usain Bolt of Madhya Pradesh.
