Vocational courses in Odisha junior colleges soon

The Odisha government has decided to introduce 12 vocational courses in Plus Two and Plus Three classes in order to enhance the employability of youth.

The courses will be introduced both in the government and non-government junior colleges.

The courses are tourism and travel management (TTM), fashion technology (FT), office management (OM), banking, automobile technology (AT), dairying (DAT), printing technology (PT), horticulture (HORT), electrical domestic appliances (EDA), information technology (IT) and mobile technology (MT) and paramedical and health care (PHC).

Similarly, 10 vocational courses such as financial literacy and banking, electrical domestic appliances, fashion technology, food processing and preservation, horticulture, information and communication technology, modern office management, printing technology and desktop publication and paramedical health care and travel and tourism management would be introduced in the government and non-government degree colleges.

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, and concerned universities have been declared as examination and certification authorities for the purpose.

Vocational subjects will be an elective subject for Plus Two and Plus Three levels from the academic session 2015-16 .
