Villager washed away in J&K flash floods

A villager was washed away in flash floods in Udhampur district on Monday.

Rakesh was washed away in flash floods in Latti Duna area of the district when he was walking along the banks of a river, officials said. Police and locals have launched an operation to trace him.

2 hurt in landslide

Two pilgrims were on Monday injured after being hit by pieces of rocks during a landslide triggered by heavy rains en route the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in Reasi district.

They were identified as Charag Verma (26) of Gurgoan and Chinta Mani (64) of Bihar, police said.

The yatra, which was briefly stopped on Saturday due to landslides, was going on smoothly, they said.
