Interception of Pramod’s car by officials of Berhampur vigilance division at Girisola inter-State check gate on Jan 12, had led to seizure of cash worth 3,73,720 rupees. According to Berhampur vigilance Superintendent of Police (SP), Manoranjan Panda, initially Pramod had claimed that this cash had been given to him by a sub-contractor of Paralakheundi to be transferred to someone in Bhubaneswar. But investigation proved this to be false as the said sub-contractor informed that he had not provided any money to the engineer. This led to vigilance raid on triple-storeyed residential house of Pramod in Bhubaneswar on Jan 13.
