Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray successfully underwent a second angioplasty procedure at Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra here on Sunday.
Sena spokesman and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said Mr. Thackeray’s health was fine after the hour-long procedure.
A single stent was used to combat the blockage in his arteries, as opposed to eight stents placed earlier in July, when he first underwent surgery for removal of three arterial blockages that had been causing him discomfort, Mr. Raut said.
Hospital sources said Mr. Thackeray was being kept under observation and was likely to be discharged in 2-3 days.
Earlier in the morning, he had arrived at the hospital along with his wife Rashmi and their sons — Yuva Sena leader Aditya Thackeray and Tejas Thackeray.
