Two U.P. MLAs disqualified

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik on Thursday ordered disqualification of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Uma Shankar Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Bajrang Bahadur Singh as members of the State Assembly.

While Mr. Uma Shankar Singh is an MLA from Rasra, Mr. Bajrang Bahadur Singh was elected from Pharenda.

The MLAs were found guilty of using their position for acquiring Government contracts.

A release from the Raj Bhavan said the MLAs were disqualified on the basis of the report from the Election Commission.
