Four perons, including the owner of a restaurant, were arrested in Guwahati on Thursday night for stabbing a television journalist following an argument.

Doctors on Friday said that Chakrapani Parashar, who works with News18, was out of danger. “He has three stab wounds,” he said.

Four persons have been arrested for the attack on the journalist, police sa.

Officials of the Dispur police station said the restaurant was in the same building as the TV channel's office in the Ganeshguri locality of the city. The journalist and the restaurant owner identified as Syed Ali Ahmed had resolved an argument in the morning, but they got into a quarrel again at night.

The restaurant owner, who had earlier been arrested for threatening a civil service officer, and three of his employees jumped on Mr Parashar with knives and stabbed. The guards of the building separated them.

The Electronic Media Forum Assam, National Union of Journalists, and Journalists’ Association of Assam condemned the attack.
