A three-day art camp was inaugurated at Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Birthplace Museum here on Wednesday in which at least 12 artistes, selected by the Lalit Kala Academy, would draw paintings on his early life and INA days.
“All the paintings would be on display at the museum on Netaji’s Jayanti on January 23,” said museum curator Jyoti Prakash Das. He said the art camp is being organised jointly by the State culture department and the Lalit Kala Academy as part of Netaji Jayanti celebrations.
Meanwhile, a refurbished museum is all set for a grand opening on Friday. “The renovated galleries displaying artefacts of Netaji and his rare photographs are ready to welcome visitors,” Mr. Das said adding that the Interpretation Centre of the museum too has got a face-lift converting it into a Conference Hall.
As a tribute to Netaji’s huge love for plants, the museum authorities have for the first time this year erected a ‘Green House’ inside the premises showcasing various varieties of orchids to boost its aesthetic looks. The museum would open a souvenir counter here to sell caps, badges and pens engraved with Netaji’s photo on them, Mr. Das informed.
